A 17th-century fort in the middle of Madikeri, rebuilt in stone by Tipu Sultan and later held by the British. Inside are a small museum in the old chapel, a palace building now used as offices, and two mortar elephants at the gate.
Tip: Easy to combine with Omkareshwara Temple and Raja’s Seat, all within walking distance.
