Built in 1591, the four-arched Charminar is the very symbol of Hyderabad — the heart of the old city, ringed by the crowded lanes of Laad Bazaar with its bangles, pearls and perfume shops. Climb the narrow staircase for a view over the rooftops and minarets.
Tip: combine Charminar with Mecca Masjid and bangle shopping at Laad Bazaar — they are all within a few minutes’ walk.
