The hill overlooking Mysore is crowned by the Chamundeshwari temple, reached either by road or by climbing more than a thousand steps past the huge Nandi bull carved from a single block of rock. The view back over the city and its palaces is the reward.
Tip: Drive up and walk down past the monolithic Nandi — easier on the knees and you still see everything.
