The Bull Temple in Basavanagudi houses one of the largest Nandi monoliths in the world — a single granite bull some 4.5 metres tall, carved in the 16th century under Kempegowda. The temple is compact but atmospheric, blackened by centuries of oil and charcoal offerings, and comes alive during the annual groundnut fair.

Tip: Combine it with Bugle Rock park next door and the nearby Gavi Gangadhareshwara cave temple.
