The Indo-Saracenic seat of the Wodeyar kings is the reason most people come to Mysore — a riot of domes, arches and stained glass, with a durbar hall of carved rosewood and inlaid ivory. On Sunday evenings and public holidays the entire facade is lit by nearly a hundred thousand bulbs.
Tip: Stay for the Sunday-evening illumination — it is the single best sight in the city.
